Museum — Muzeu i Artit Mesjetar i Korce

The National Museum of Medieval Art (NMMA) was opened in 1980. It is one of the most important historic and cultural centers of Albania. The museum possesses rich artistic funds of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine period. Icons, objects of stone, collection of precious materials, carving wood, textiles and papers items are some of its treasure of a high quality values.

The biggest part of this treasure is the iconographic collection which has about 6.500 icons painted on the wooden panels. This collection preserves the same artistic and historic values just like the neighbor areas included in ex-Byzantine and post-Byzantine empire.
